Year 3 is about to begin

The boys are back again! Well, that’s not entirely true. Now they’re at their aunt April’s house camping out for the next few days, but at least they’re back in California. We’re just two weeks away from the second anniversary of Jeseca’s death and the beginning of the third official school year at The Rock Academy. And perhaps something even more amazing looms………

I’ve been going through old video over the past few days, and have taken some new footage of the 3GBs. Two of those videos are below. The first is of all of us at the ice skating rink around Christmas just before Jeseca was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2003; the second is from Friday’s hair cut session at Sweet Salon in Ocean Beach. We are all so much younger, and yours truly doesn’t look nearly as burdened or weathered by the storms that came immediately afterward. But you know what? We’re all still smiling because God has given us the hope to go on. He’s a great God…

From his career in professional baseball to an attempt at professional golf and the tragic loss of his wife, Jon Graves is on the journey of his life.
Treasure your family. Love your friends. Find your purpose. And have more fun!

What precious video! I remember that Christmas very well now that I've seen it again.

Sometimes it's theraputic to revisit the past and stir up old memories. Especially the good ones.

And I think it is good to allow the children those times also, so they can keep their memories fresh of their young childhood with their mother. You might consider making it a periodic event with them somewhere special with the three of you, so their memories will stay alive in their hearts. I think Palm Springs is a special place where Everen thinks of times there with his mom. It's the family's job to do this for the boys and I commend you for delving in the past and bringing those to surface.

It's good to periodically go back in the "archives" and it is amazing how fast time goes by when you finally do. I'm sure Everen had forgotten until seeing them again. And for little Christian, he probably would not have recalled that special Christmas because he was too young. Good stuff, son!

There have been so many wonderful memories and we need to cherish them with occasional "remember when's."

I know I enjoy it… I have a huge box full of those memories. It's good for the soul and I encourage your readers to "remember when" also. Life is so short.

I love you and miss you all so much. Will continue to follow your Blog of course and watch for new postings of the 3GB's.

    "Thanks for the memories."
    Mom
