Waiting for our happy ending

I’ll be brief tonight. I told someone recently that our story is incomplete; that we are missing the end of the story (what we hope will be a happy ending). We’ve documented, both in written form and on video, all of the ups and downs in this fight for Jeseca’s life. I don’t mean this to be melodramatic, but it appears we’ve reached the climax of the story; the point where you have to ask, “What will God do?” Our hope remains in Him, but He has to act quickly. She may not make it to June 9…

From his career in professional baseball to an attempt at professional golf and the tragic loss of his wife, Jon Graves is on the journey of his life.

    Jon,
You don’t know me, and I don’t know you…..but it’s a God thing how I happened upon your page and your prayers for your wife Jeseca. A friend of mine in Hawaii sent me your prayer request, she is a Navy wife and we were stationed together in San Diego……where I still live, and, where you live. ANYWAY….I am a member of a group called Prayers and Squares. (www.prayerquilt.org) We make quilts for people who are going through medical crisis. I thought that Jeseca might like to have a Prayer Quilt. There is no cost, she just has to agree to accept a quilt that has been tied with prayer. Please let me know!

    Jon,
We just wanted you to know that you and Jes are in our prayers. We are praying just for Gods peace and strength through the storm. And that He would be the lifter of your heads through this tough time. I am so sad inside to hear all that Jeseca has endured, and still is… She is truely a woman of God. I think that is why she has impacted so many people. The Lord knew that she would be a strong women for Him and one that wouldnt waver under any trial. Her faith in the Lord speaks volumes to the world. And it speaks of the Lords goodness and faithfulness through the hardest of trials. We treasure both of you and we are praying for you continually. All over the world you are being prayed over. God is so GOOD!! My father and his whole church are praying for you. You guys are so loved. May today the Lord strengthen you and love all over the both of you today.. We love you in Jesus, Sarah

    Hi Jon,
You do not know me, but a friend from San Diego sent me your website so that we could pray for your family. You and your wife and kiddos are being lifted up to our Lord Jesus who is the God of mercy. Praying His mercies would be new every moring.

Also wondering too if you know my cousin, Scott Dunham? He played ball and he’s about your age.
God Bless and Keep running the race with your eyes fixed on Jesus.

Jon and Jes, your friends have been busy! I heard of you through a friend of yours in a roundabout way too.

I’m a homeschooling mom in north county who’s been battling cancer for just about a year now. The dad of one of our local hsing families also battled cancer last year. I’ve passed along your request to all my prayer warrior friends up here. We’re all well acquainted with your fears and pain, as well as your hope.

May He who is always faithful and who cradles you in His arms also envelope you in His peace. We’re praying for all of you!

Jon & Jes, It was great to see you guys today. I just want you to know that whenever I see Jes, I think of 2Chron16:9 “For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him,” and I think to myself – Wow, I’ve never seen a more committed heart than Jes’. You know that we’re always praying for you, as are people around the globe. Always remember that you are in the shelter of the most high: PS 91:14-16 “14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

    Love, Bob

    Jon and Melinda,
Just wanted to let you know that I’m praying for you and your family. I received an email that had been passed along from a friend of mine at Cornerstone Church of San Diego, and because of the power of email, and technology, I can already tell that there are thousands praying for you. In Jesus name, we are believing for healing with you, we serve a HUGE God, that has all authority over any disease and sickness on this earth. No matter what any doctor says, no matter what you’ve already experienced, God can do the miraculous, you just have to believe it with all that you have. I will lift up you family in prayer tonight at our worship practice. I don’t know you, but we are brothers and sisters in Christ, and His love is what has compelled me to post this. God Bless you Jon and Melinda, the Godines family and many prayer warriors from Cornerstone are praying for you! In His Service,
    Gabe Godines

    Jon,

I’m so sorry you have to go thru all of this. You don’t know me but a friend of my sister in laws bible study gave me your blog. I live in San Marcos. My wife just passed last month from Liver Cancer at 38. I have 3 boys under 7 and I’m playing the Mom role now while working full time. Your strength in God shows. I prayed for my wife of 11 Years for a miracle. It was not Gods plan; he has other plans for me and my boys. Val is now pain free and in a much better place. It sooo hard to write this, but I wanted to share this with you. Below is a link to our Blog. I will be praying for your wife, you and the boys!!! Sounds like you go to the Rock. You have a great Pastor, Val and I went to Horizon when Miles spoke there on Sunday nights back in the mid 90’s, we loved him.

    You are not alone
